Copper fixtures, distressed stone and wood floors are common in Tuscan kitchen designs. Add decorative vases of bright sunflowers to countertops to give the room a natural spot of color. While the overall feeling of a Tuscan kitchen should be family-friendly, the room should feel grand upon entering.

Furniture that looks like it´s been dipped in paint is a popular home design trend, and this technique works well with kitchen chairs. To try it, paint just the legs of your chairs or the backs of them. Or reverse this effect and paint the entire chair except for the bottom half of the legs. This is a great way to introduce a hint of color without completely covering your chairs. Chalkboard paint can also work wonders with kitchen chairs. Once the primer is dry, paint a 2- to 3-inch cut-in line on the ceiling using a paintbrush. Make sure to start painting the ceiling with your roller while the cut-in line is still wet to avoid having a visible line. Then, make a zigzag pattern with your roller and go over that with straight strokes to even out the paint. Let the first coat dry and then start the same process over again for a second coat.
